Metsä 360 - New value from the forest
LUT University and the Marjatta and Eino Kolli Foundation have partnered to award a €30,000 prize starting in 2020. The award is part of the extensive cooperation between LUT University and the Kolli Foundation, which aims to increase the added value of Finnish forests and support the growth of a responsible bioeconomy. The prize can be awarded to a person or organization that has succeeded in increasing the added value of forests or in creating the conditions and opportunities for increasing the added value of forests.
The award honors the legacy of the visionary industrial councilor Eino Kolli (1925-2016) and
life's work for forests. The finalists for the 2025 Forest 360 Award have been selected by a panel of experts from LUT University and the Marjatta and Eino Koll Foundation.
"This year's Metsä360 finalists demonstrate the many ways in which the value of forests can be increased, from fire safety and industrial construction to everyday design. It is inspiring to see how Finnish companies are taking Finnish forest expertise forward in a sustainable and innovative way," says Esko Kolli, Commissioner for Economic Affairs at the Kolli Foundation.
The official decision on the winner of the Metsä360 Award will be made by an external jury, which in 2025 will include:
- Martti Malmivirta, government relations professional
- Eveliina Pokela, Director of the Decision Makers' Forest Academy
- Sipe Santapukki, musician and nature influencer
- Kari Sinivuori, founding member and CEO of Uute Scientific
The winner will be announced at an awards gala in Lahti on 24.11.2025
